The Spanish Stirrup West is a portion of the historic Spanish Stirrup ranch also being offered in its entirety on this site. It is a well improved working cattle ranch steeped in artifacts and lore dating back to the 1870's. Located in the upper Chihuahuan desert with rolling to mountainous terrain, it is a browse and grass ranch with excellent water.
In this offering there are +/- 299 deeded acres with a 8,443+/- acre BLM grazing lease, a 2,981+/- acre State of NM grazing lease, and approximately three sections of open range. It is permitted to run 220 head of cattle yearlong with 3 horses. There are five wells all of which have been recently reworked with new pumps and equipment within the past three years. There is about 2.5 miles of pipeline with 5 drinkers and two storage tanks. In addition, there are two dirt tanks and springs in the upper country. Spanish Stirrup West consists of one large pasture with two sets of corrals rebuilt with drill pipe, guardrail and cattle panels.
There is a mixture of browse and grass. The browse includes mesquite, acacia, Mormon tea. Grass species are predominately short grama grasses, and tabosa .
