The Laguna Seca Ranch is situated approximately 100 miles northwest of Albuquerque, NM in an attractive setting with open meadows to rolling mountains, arroyos, scenic bluffs, canyons and water ways. Ancient artifacts, ruins, petroglyphs and cliff homes are scattered throughout the ranch There is an abundance of game including elk, and mule deer providing excellent hunting opportunities. The ranch consists of 560+/- deeded acres, and a 7,757+/- acre USFS Grazing Allotment. The ranch will run 125+/- head of cow/calf pairs from May 1st to November 15th on the USFS Allotment and the balance of the year on deeded with calf weaning weights at about 650 pounds. The ranch currently receives two rifle elk tags, six rifle deer tags, and two archery deer tags. Elk tags are expected to increase with the E-Plus rule changes going into effect in 2019. The ranch is located predominately in Game Management Unit 5B with some deeded land in 5A.
There are two homes; a site built adobe home that serves as the primary residence and a 1996 double-wide four bedroom, two bath manufactured home. Other improvements include a steel shop/equipment shed partially insulated and heated, hay barn, tack room, storage, additional hay barn, steel corrals with sorting pens, curved lead-up and crowding tub, squeeze chute, scales, calf table and loading chute. The ranch is well watered with four wells on the private property, three windmills on the USFS allotment, eight dirt tanks, two water storage tanks, and ten drinkers. Fences are in good shape and maintenance responsibility is limited due to significant natural barriers. Small to medium sized canyons comprise many of the ranches seven pastures. This ranch is easy to operate and is well maintained.
